Matt co-founded XXIII Capital Inc. in January 2023 and has nearly two decades of diversified commercial real estate, private equity and capital markets experience. He has played a key role on the execution of over $40 billion in completed transactions throughout his career.
Matt's background includes holding various senior positions with one of the world's largest commercial real estate services firms, including managing a commercial brokerage team of over 80 in Calgary (the largest in Alberta at the time), serving as the interim Canadian chair of global capital markets and investment sales.
Prior thereto, Matt spent 12 years in Capital Markets, including Investment Banking (Calgary) and Mergers & Acquisitions (Toronto) roles with two of Canada's largest banks.
Matt is a CFA® charterholder and graduated from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary with a Bachelors of Commerce in Finance. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Brown Bagging For Calgary Kids, a completely privately funded non-profit organization providing meals to ~7,800 students across Calgary in >300 schools and >30 communities with a volunteer force of over 1,000.

Before co-founding XXIII Capital Inc., Taylor led strategic corporate development and restructuring initiatives for a group of family-owned businesses operating in homebuilding, foreign manufacturing, import/export, and retail sales.
Taylor’s career spans commercial real estate, strategic advisory, and financial services. She was instrumental in marketing over 4 million square feet of commercial property across Western Canada, covering a diverse range of asset classes, including industrial, office, retail, mixed-use, multi-family, development land, hospitality, resort properties, and controlled environment agriculture.
At Hugessen Consulting, Taylor provided independent, Board-level advisory to public and private organizations worldwide, specializing in governance, board effectiveness, and executive compensation. She began her career at ATB Financial as a Commercial Underwriting Manager, where she focused on small-cap private real estate and agricultural lending.
Taylor serves as a director on the boards of CREW Network Calgary and Kids Up Front Calgary. She was recognized with the 2024 Canadian Real Estate Forums Outstanding Young Leader Award for her contributions to the industry and community impact. Taylor holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of Alberta and has been a CFA® charterholder since 2021.

Mr. Cockwell is the Managing Partner of Ursataur Capital Management, a private equity firm he founded in 2009 that strategically invests in Canadian mid-market companies across various industries. Andrew also has extensive private and public commercial and residential real estate interests. He holds a track record of fostering value creation for both private and public companies, advising on issues such as strategic realignment, operational improvement, capital allocation, and governance.
Previously, Mr. Cockwell was a Founding Partner of ReichmannHauer Capital Partners in 2006, a Toronto-based private equity firm targeting both domestic and international investments. He also served in the Private Equity and Corporate Finance practices at global management consulting firm McKinsey & Company, which he joined in 2003 and where he advised businesses, private equity firms, and hedge funds in North America and Europe. Earlier in his career, he practiced M&A and securities law as an attorney at Sullivan & Cromwell in New York and London.
Mr. Cockwell holds a breadth of experience providing financial and legal advisory services in a variety of complex business contexts across a wide range of industries, including commercial real estate, industrial coatings, ground support, financial services, and food and retail. Mr. Cockwell holds a Bachelor of Art (Hons.) from Queen’s University and an LL.B. with Great Distinction from the Faculty of Law at McGill University.
